When you find an outdated news story that you feel is negative – Google is often displaying it prominently because their algorithm believes that this web page is relevant and possibly authoritative. There is no way to change Google’s algorithm (at least nothing that we’ve tried so far has worked…) but what we can do is, by understanding the algorithm on a basic level, work to point Google toward better sites that they can use in their results for a given query. We can also teach Google that a result they thought was relevant, is not the most relevant.
Only in rare cases do we contact site owners and ask them to remove pages that appear as bad results, and only after consulting with our clients.
We prefer to work behind the scenes strengthening good results so that they move higher and weakening the poor ones, by teaching Google that they are not relevant.
Our business can only work when we keep our client list secret. We will never reveal the name or keywords of any of our clients to anyone.
